Filming tips
Get the best possible analysis with proper filming technique.
Camera angle: side-view is non-negotiable.
Our pipeline is optimized for side-view (sagittal plane) analysis. Front/rear views work but with reduced accuracy on certain issues (arm mechanics especially).
Distance: 5 yards off the track, perpendicular to the athlete.
Closer than 5 yards and you lose the top and bottom of the athlete's body. Farther and pose detection quality drops.
Camera height: waist-level.
Don't film from above. The perspective distortion breaks the pose engine.
Lighting: full daylight or well-lit indoor.
Shadows across the athlete mess with landmark detection.
Athlete should be centered in the frame for the full 40 yards. Track them left-to-right or right-to-left, not toward/away from camera.
